One Direction, a English-Irish boy band,  announced on Nov. 26, on “Good Morning America,” its stadium tour dates for “Where We Are Tour.”

The 21-city tour will start Aug. 1 in Toronto, and they will also be in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Dallas and Miami, and many other cities.

Their new album “Midnight Memories” quickly reached the top of the charts in 97 countries.

This announcement made fans from El Paso very excited, since they will be performing at the Sun Bowl Stadium on Aug. 19.

“2014 is an important year,” Jorge Vazquez, the executive director of UTEP’s special events office, said while wearing a Miner’s jersey with the name One Direction on the back.

Forty thousand seats will be available, including 10,000 on the floor near the stage.

Ticket cost between $39 to $116 and are available at the UTEP Ticket Center, online at livenation.com and by phone at 800-745-3000.

“I really don’t like One Direction, but it’s good that there will be something different than just DJs coming,” 16-year-old Vanessa Diaz said.
